Blackberry Battery Drain Issue

The solution that I came up with my Blackberry battery drain issue was to delete some of my apps. Plain and simple. I must have read several dozen blogs and message boards with numerous suggestions, but with no clear resolution.

I own the Blackberry Curve 8900, and when I first had purchased it, the battery life was outstanding. Keep in mind that I had purchase two Blackberry's for both my wife and I. My wifes has always worked flawless. (no apps) From day one I started adding apps to the phone and still was good to go. But several weeks later, out of the blue, my battery life was being sucked away in a matter of hours. I would go from a full charge to half, in two hours, and then to empty in one or two hours more. (I really can not  remember if I had downloaded a particular program, when I started noticing the discharge)

After reading all the comments on the issue and speaking to T-mobile, and still not receiving a logical answer, I decided to start from square one and remove all the apps, but the ones that I use on a daily basis. So I removed all the apps and then rebooted the phone by removing the battery and leaving it out for over a minute. I also removed the Facebook app that came with the phone, from the *options > advanced applications section* (because it doesn't have a delete, from the app. and I have read that the Blackberry Facebook App is somewhat troublesome. I never had any trouble, but it never really impressed me, because it is missing many of the web features. So I just now use the mobile web version and it works flawless. (sometimes you have to clean out the cache, but no big deal)

After a full charge my Blackberry Curve 8900 started working like new and actually seemed to be running a little faster. Bottomline, keep your BB Apps to a minimum till someone figures out the battery drainage issue while in use with many apps. There is some sort of conflict maybe with the apps and the operating system.

PS: Also turn off your GPS when not in use, so it does not run in the background. Also only use whatever instant messenger you always use... if you sign in to all of them, it will/may drain your battery.

My current apps in use with no conflicts are: Google Gmail, Twitterberry, Bloomberg, Viigo, Google Sync, MySpace, Handango Inhand, Blackberry App World, iStockmanager, Bank of America, and Evernote.
